Paid family leave
Has anyone ever been able to get ahold of someone at the paid family leave office? I call daily, multiple times a day and it always says they’re at their max number of callers and to try again. I’m starting to think no one actually works the phones lol.

Yeah I was able to once. You have to call right when they open at 8am. If not, you can go to your local office
Yes I’ve spoken to them a couple of times! I agree with Marie you have to call right when they open and call multiple times till you get through.
How do we look up the address to go in person? 🫣
I never got through to them, ended up going in person but was there for 4 hours so prepare for wait times if you go
I paid a third party to call for me and they called like 1000 times. Once they were able to get through the called me and linked me to the call.
Ugh it’s been such a struggle. Follow up question - how long did it take you to get paid? It’s been over a month for me. My leave started 9/27
Did you apply for short term disability first?
Your Pregnancy disability has to be approved and run out before they green light your PFL
Yeah, I’m 8 months pp. I went back to work after my 6 weeks of disability and am back on leave
Oh then the hold up is most likely at your job. When my PFL got stalled, it’s because my payroll department hadn’t responded to their mail to confirm I was in fact on leave
This post is from Reddit. I used it today and it worked. I wasnt able to talk to some one directly because the office had closed. But they did put me in line to speak to some one. I will be trying this method again at 8am
How to CALL EDD
Call, 1800 300 5616
Press 1 when u hear the recording,
then wait till shes done talking and says “select from these options”
Immediately press 2 and 4 in rapid succession
This will bypass everything and go straight to connecting you to a representative
If u hear “thank you for calling....” hang up and redial
If u hear “your call is important to us....” ur in and just wait
Best times to call and do this are 8:01 AM or after 4 PM

that was the unemployment line but they can connect you to edd. Hopefully you have better luck than I do
I’ve called 16 times so far today. Still no luck 🥲
Keep calling. When they say it’s too many people, right when someone ends a call could be the space you needed to be connected. Frustrating and tiring but you’ll get through…..being on hold for over an hour feels worse
