Hi has anyone else had months of regular periods then nothing?
this is a long one but i'd be grateful if someone had any advice as I feel so lost.
In Nov 2020 I had the implant removed and for 3 years after I had really irregular periods. Before this I was like clockwork. During COVID etc I did gain weight. I had bloods done and a scan. Scan came back normal and my bloods just came back as higher testosterone, my GP said it could possibly be pcos but wouldn't diagnose me. My husband and I ttc but nothing happened so we were referred to a fertility clinic after almost a year. Luckily in this time I managed to fall pregnant naturally with my now 1 year old.
My periods returned 6 months after he was born and since then have been really regular every 28-31 days, 4 day bleed. Until this month where I'm 6 days late and not pregnant. Ive also lost 2.5 stone weight. All the issues I've had in previous years has left me so anxious so I contacted my GP surgery. Today I spoke to a nurse practitioner who bluntly said "well your medical history suggests you have pcos so there's not much we can do." I mentioned that I hadn't been diagnosed but she said that didn't matter and that they wouldn't repeat the bloods etc because it would just be the same. She said I have to wait before theyd try provera or norethisterone again to regulate my periods.
I honestly don't know how to feel. I know how lucky I am to have my son but we would love another child. I'm so scared that it's going to be the same as last time. 😔

I would think about switching doctors to be completely honest. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and I’ve found that a lot of regular Obgyn or primary doctors just don’t know a lot about it. I’ve had bloodwork done and when I went to the fertility specialist had to have it all done again because it was more than 6 months since I’d had it done. Things change over time so I’m not sure why they are refusing to at least run some labs.
Since having my daughter, my periods have become way more regular. Still not every 30 days but once every month. There have been some cycles that have lasted a little longer than others so maybe this is just a strange cycle? Other factors like stress can also affect your cycles.
