Trying to brainstorm names that work in both English and Portuguese. We love the girls name Emilia after my partners grandma but struggling with boys names that work in both languages!

Hey Ellie … my husbands Brazilian and we just had a son we named Rafael but we call him Rafi for short. I would love to recommend more but we didn’t have anymore boy names! 😅 good luck 🥰

Raphael
Enzo
Lucas
Lucca
Arthur
Just some has come to my mind and options I had before having a girl. I’m Brazilian myself and my partner English.

Both my boys names Nicholas (pronounced exactly the same in both languages) and Eric.
Names that worked in both Portuguese and English was non negotiable for me 😊

My cousin’s name is Nicolas, my nephew’s name is Enzo, my uncle’s name is Sebastião (sebastian)
Lucas is a good one

Always loved miguel

Ahh so many great ideas thank you all!

My granddaughter is Emilia Grace. Her big brother is Jesse

I know Joao is really common there, but I had never heard it here before and even if it confuses some people, you could do Jo or Joey as nick names - my husband and I considered it! We are going with Emiliano - could honor your partners grandma as well! Or Emilio
