@Miranda thank you so much!!! Okay that definitely eases my mind I definitely know I’m just overthinking it lol but I do struggle with always thinking the worst 😂. definitely makes me feel better the way you have described it so thankss😂☺️ x
Agreed with the other comment, the thought is worse than it is in reality. It also looks scarier than it is - its a long instrument, but they only insert the very tip and it is well lubricated. They also do these scans day in day out which helps with any embarrassment you might feel. MUCH smaller than a penis
@Cesca ohh okay thank you!! I was also worried about how much is inserted so that makes me feel better lol😅 thankss!☺️
@Cesca I’m not sure if it’s different for everyone, but do they move the instrument around much once they have inserted it?
Hi Chantelle, they move them side to side if they need to see things but not further in. Try to relax you and your legs. I've had multiple of those throughout my pregnancies and non-pregnant. It's perfectly normal 😌
It isn’t a problem at all I promise, i had to have multiple due to an ectopic and then again being scanned early to make sure this pregnancy wasn’t ectopic. They lube it up plenty and the people I had doing it do it so often they hardly even have to look properly where it’s going! Just try take deep breaths and think about something else, it isn’t scary or painful at all x
Ah it’s honestly nothing to worry about. It’s a bit like a sex toy tbh, not too big😆 they will wiggle it about and it can be slightly uncomfortable but nothing you can’t manage. Nothing like period cramps or anything like that. If you do feel pain let them know and they will stop straight away. Don’t worry xx
@Ana thank you !! ☺️
@Beth thank you!! So sorry for what you have experienced in the past but congratulations for your current pregnancy ☺️💕. Thanks for the advice I will definitely take deep breaths and try to think about something else while they do it!! ☺️
@Laura thank you☺️!! I’m okay with slight discomfort i was just worrying about it being really painful so it helps to know it shouldn’t be painful!! I’m also slightly worried about whether it will make me bleed afterwards or not, like spotting and not sure if I should get checked out if I have bleeding afterwards, I will probably ask about the bleeding when I’m there anyway but just also something that’s playing on my mind. Thank you for explaining it though I definitely feel a lot better about the whole thing and I can definitely feel my anxiety has lifted a lot since reading the advice here!! ☺️ xx
I've had them pre pregnancy and very early on in my pregnancy. It's a bit uncomfortable but that's it.
Hey - not painful at all. They will tell you everything you need to do when you’re there. 100% not something to worry about
@Loren thank you!
@Keara thank you !!☺️

like others have said, not painful at all. the worst bit for me is when they ask me to cover myself up and pull my trousers/underwear down. it always makes me feel so awkward, i never know what to do with myself
Hey you. It’s basically a thin wand like thing that goes in. They will add a lubricant to it so it slips in easily so just try relax. Not to be crass but it’s smaller than a penis just for context 😂😂😂 It’s also smooth etc so doesn’t hurt or cause friction going in. Just try not to clench and it will be fine! It’s a bit awkward feeling but not sore at all!
