This is very normal! I am also 33+5 dilated to a 1 I have contractions daily. This is my fourth baby. You can be dilated at a one for weeks. With my first I was dilated to a 2 at 28 on bed rest until 36 weeks she was born at 40+5 my second daughter I was dilated to 4 at 32 weeks. On bed rest till 36 weeks she was born 39+4 my son I didn't get any checks until way later but when I was admitted for induction at 39+3 I was only 1cm dilated. The spotting is just irritation from the check. Unless it becomes bright red and you can fill up a pad nothing to worry about.

They should have advised you that this and some slight cramping is normal.

In my first pregnancy this happened from 34 weeks all the way to 39 at 3cm dilated. Each oregnancy is different though so I'd keep the maternity ward number on hand and maybe take some baths to ease the cramps

I hear you and totally salute you for being extra careful after the first pregnancy experience and being 1H15 away from the hospital! That is a long drive! It's actually wild because I'm 34 weeks and just today had the discharge with some light pink and thought of your post 😅
