Our GP has advised us to move our LO to anti reflux milk after he wasn't able to prescribe carabel 🙄
We're moving her to cow and gate anti reflux as she's on c&g at the moment, but I have no idea how to make up the bottles for when we go out, and I don't want to start being trapped in the house again.
The instructions on the box say to boil the kettle and wait 45 minutes, then add the formula and leave for 7 minutes to thicken.
Can we use the hot shot method instead? This is how we currently make bottles.
Or can we make the bottles in advance? Would this work or would the formula just thicken too much if we didn't use it right away?
Any other methods for when out?
This is all just a minefield!

I use the nuby rapid cool. We are on the anti reflux milk too x

How do you use the rapid cool in this case? From what I understand, it cools off the water before you use it to make the formula. Does the water not need to be at a specific temperature? Like 70 degrees or something? It's a genuine question as we are also considering anti-reflux formula and I'm trying to figure out how to make it.

I have a thermos with my hot water in. Put in the water then add the formula and shake and it cools it. Literally takes a minute and he's on 7oz x

Thank you so much for explaining. I had misunderstood how the rapid cool works. 🤦‍♀️ I will order one now!!!

I use this exact formula and mix it as normal in my nuby when out and about and it’s always fine x

@Mantha no problem at all! Just make sure you wash it out as soon as you can as it can be a bugger. If I'm out I put some hot water in it and swill it out as best I can and wash when I get home x

We do the same with our nubi on anti reflux. The only thing I will say is I moved my LO to cow and gate anti reflux and it was too thick and rich and made her really constipated. We then tried aptimil which didn’t agree with her but now she’s on sma and that’s done the job. X
Thanks all.
When using the nuby, are you doing hot shot method or just adding the boiled water, adding the formula, then shaking?
I'm worried the Nuby will cool the mixture down too much before the bacteria in the formula has been killed off.
Are you also putting boiled water in straight after the kettle has boiled or are you still waiting the 45 minutes?
