Colief drops and breastfeeding?

Does anyone who is EBF use colief drops and who isn’t pumping? How do you do it if you don’t really pump because you need to get milk out to mix? So do you hand express a bit? Or pump a tiny bit? Does it impact your supply or cause breast discomfort to start getting milk out manually?

How many drops do you use? Can I hand express a little less and use less drops? I don’t really want to start pumping.
Lots of questions, would love any advice!☺️ x

I am using them at the minute with my little one however I express milk the majority of the time. The guidance that they provide for Colief states to ‘express a few tablespoons of breast milk into a sterilised container. Add four drops of Colief to it and then feed it back to baby using a sterilised plastic spoon’ but perhaps a syringe might be better and then ‘continue breastfeeding straight after’.

I think hand expressing should work just fine since it’s a small amount and shouldn’t cause any discomfort as long as you are gentle whilst doing so nor should it impact your supply x

I just put a few drops on my nipple before feeding but I don’t think my son struggles enough to need the full dose. It definitely makes a difference to him but he was mildly upset with processing lactose not fully struggling so I felt fine to add it to my nipple which I know affects how well it works x

I bought a cup from amazon that collects any leaking milk and usually would use that milk to put any medication in and give it to him through syringe

are you managing to give the drops with every feed? I don’t see myself managing every feed as I wouldn’t have that much milk leaking into the milk catcher. Maybe one or two feeds in a day ? So is there even a point of me using colief if they suggest every feed?😭 x
