POTTY TRAINING

Girl it’s like trying to put a diaper on a rolling alligator I’m over it lol but I know my 8 month old isn’t ready for the potty.. sigh

Any tips? How do you know when their ready to start potty training or did u just decide to

An 8 month old really is not developmentally ready to be potty trained they don’t have the control of their muscles / sphincter yet …
It’s still more of a reflex …


Trying to potty train before they are ready is going to cause you and your child a lot of stress !

Elimination communication is recommended for the little ones that aren't ready to potty train.

8 months may be too early. They can’t control their sphincter just yet, but it can be good practice to take him with you when you go just to get that habit going

My 8 months already knows how to crawl and also holding things to stand up on his own,walk around the crib and the living room just fine. He started doing all of these on his own. He’s pretty much steady. I know lots of people saying this and that he’s not ready but for me he is. I don’t let him sit on the potty with no one around. How does sitting a baby on a potty is going to cause him or me any stress. I came from a family who potty trained early and we all came out just fine. It’s not like I’m stopping him from pooping in his diapers. i just sit him on it every now and then

My daughter does this too but they dosent necessarily mean they are ready to potty train..

I think it’s fine that you out him on the potty but just know they don’t have control of their sphincter until they are older . And until they have they control they will not be able to be potty trained

putting him on a potty every now and then won’t kill him or cause him stress. So far he’s doing just fine. Everyone for their own. Practicing elimination communication ain’t a bad thing every now and then

Holy crap! Everyone saying “they’re not ready they’re not ready” are gonna have 4 year olds in diapers who only get potty trained because it’s required for school.

I have been doing EC with my baby since she was 3 months old! She’s never had diaper rash, cleaning her is so much easier and we’ve saved SO MUCH on diapers and wipes.

The age of potty training has gone up years since disposable diapers have come into play50/60 years ago. It use to be babies were potty trained by 1/1.5 years old (my goal) whereas now it’s 3/4 years old.

Stop coming for this mom who is putting in the effort and start focusing on y’all’s babies and realize that it is in our primal nature to not want to be covered in our own feces from the moment we’re born!
