What do Braxton hicks feel like?
I don’t recall ever having them when pregnant with my daughter. I was woken at 3am this morning with strong period like pains that would come and go every 5-9 mins for 1 min at a time. Could have sworn I was having contractions but they must have stopped eventually as I fell back to sleep around 4:30 & now I’m up for the day I feel fine again. Very weird! There was no tightening of my tummy at all just strong period pains (I’m 34+5)

That’s how I felt last week with the strong period pains and also lower back pain coming and going but no tightening of my stomach, not sure what it was!
Braxton hicks are tightenings without pain and very irregular, prodromal labour is similar to actual labour contractions (I.e painful) and also can be regular but they don’t progress. Most people just say Braxton hicks as tbh most people have never heard of prodromal labour.
I had exactly the same this week but no signs of anything since so assuming it was Braxton Hicks!
