Am I being selfish?

So my baby daddy had a business a few years ago and it failed, he now has a credit card to pay off the last £10000 of his loan. It's in my name because he couldn't get the credit but he does pay the direct debit. He earns half my salary and I'm currently on maternity leave with an 11 week old and half pay so relying more on him. We need to renew his loan credit card and I always said I would do it in my name again but I don't want too 🫣 I need a bigger car for me and baby and want to get a credit card for that instead. I said he needs to ask his parents, he can still pay it but they will get approved as he won't, he has a bad relationship with them and doesn't want to ask them but I said its his debt and he needs to take responsibility. Am I being a bad partner? I don't want to resent him and feel like I kind of am starting too 🫣💜

Definitely not being selfish at all! I always think it’s a bad idea to get involved in someone else’s debts

Not a bad partner. His debt his problem. Having it in your name looks like it’s your debt. If he ever stopped paying for some reason it’s you that it falls on. It’s never good to be involved in someone else’s debt. Your little one is your priority and you are too. Have to make sure you are secure financially and having his debt in your name doesn’t do that. Stay strong, he can’t be annoyed at you, and if he is that says a lot about him x

Both sound like bad financial decisions

Girl no! Just no and he’s self centered to even expect such from you now you have a defendant to think about and cater for. Also no to getting a car on a credit card 😳 Please seek (free) financial advice

When he next mentions it….
