I’m nesting and freaking out about cat hair

I just put up the bassinet pack n play thing, and laid out everything of baby boys that needs to be washed. I woke up to use the restroom at like 3am and found my cats laying in the bassinet part. My baby daddy was the only one who they listened to, and were not together and he won’t be around. Any tips to keep these cats off the baby stuff? Otherwise I’m going to have to get rid of them and I feel terrible about it.

I have a cat myself. I’m a little worried about this as well. I’ve been googling and doing some research if there’s a net thing to go over the pack n play. Otherwise, gonna have to keep a close eye and keep redirecting.

I always kept the cats out of baby’s room (so our room for the first 6 months) by shutting the door.

my husband and i have been keeping our 3 cats out of the nursery, we have a bassinet that has a top so the cats can’t get into it but other than that we haven’t been too concerned about the hair. as long as you vacuum frequently you will be okay, the baby will grow up with the cats so you can’t expect to keep every hair away just don’t let them lay on the baby stuff

Put tin foil in it before baby is born so they stay out and then they'll learn to not go into it even after you take it out

I wouldn’t worry about the cat hair. It’s not going to hurt the baby, and probably helps prevent allergies. We bought a cover for the bassinet though because we don’t want our cats trying to snuggle the baby and accidentally suffocating it. It was on Amazon and not too expensive (I just searched bassinet cat cover). Going to close the nursery door when the baby is sleeping in the crib for same reason

I was super worried about my cat sitting on my newborn with my first but when we brought my newborn home my cat wanted absolutely nothing to do with anything the baby touched

For now you could try the tin foil trick. Or just keep the stuff out of reach of the cats. But inevitably there will be cat hair on things and that’s probably okay! It builds up their tolerance to it!
My husband is allergic to cats so I actually wanted my cat to be around so my baby would build up immunity.

Tin foil. If you put tin foil on the furniture you don’t want them on they won’t go near it
