My partner and I were talking about eating pizza and how it is very much the same as having bread and a bunch of different fillings in them, hence the “open sandwich” 😆 it was one of those thing where I became completely speechless. What do you think of that statement?

Would you say that a sandwich is just a closed pizza 🤔 I feel like if the inverse isn't true, then that can't be true 😂

I get it but I think the type of bread is different, and the typical way it is topped (sauce, cheese, toppings). Like how lasagne is not just closed flat spaghetti bolognese, similar ingredients do not equal the same dish!

Agree. Just like a hotdog is a sandwich and cereal is a soup

if a pizza is an open faced sandwich then a hotdog is a sandwich

Maybe lasagna is the same as pizza. 😂

🤯
🤣

Would you consider a smoothie a cold soup ? I don’t think so 😂

Just to add to the argument, it was made as argument for why pizza isn’t that unhealthy 😂 so he compared it to an “open sandwich”, because a sandwich is healthy compared to a slice of pizza 🤯 but it’s actually healthy because it’s just an open sandwich

yes

Depends on the pizza to be honest.
Pizzas aren’t all created equal.
Some are healthier than others.
So playing devil’s advocate, maybe I can start to see the point.

Pizza is an open sandwich while a sandwich is a closed pizza loll 🤣

Yeah most food is all the same things just prepared differently

Pizza is a pie

Best description ever thank you 🤣🤣🤣 i always had this question its like what is that we call it manosheh in arabic lile pizza but with Zaatar or cheese, i will never look at pizza the same now 🤣🤣

Tarts are pies.
And not all pies have a top, many don't in fact... Pumpkin pie, lemon meringue, key lime, pecan etc

No, no. Agree with Grace above and pizza always needs to get into the oven, not a sandwich. I have never found a sandwich with tomato and basil paste, nor a pizza with mayonnaise or mustard spread.
Next time your guy asks for a pizza, give him a sandwich.

@KayLee I hate these but you're right 😭🙈

Have you ever had an Italian pizza? You can also make your own and put anything on it. You can have tuna pizza, some people may like to put mayo on it lol not my preferences but I know people who have done that before. You can certainly have tomato pesto in a sandwich.

Disagree, there's no bread!

ahahahahah yammy

I don't necessarily agree but I can see where he's coming from. My husband's friend calls it posh cheese on toast, so a similar way of thinking

I have tried Italian pizza in Italy and sorry but Italians disagree with what you say and how other countries have tropicalised pizzas.

what kind of pizza have you been consuming that doesn’t have bread?

The recipe for pizza base is literally the same as a bread recipe

normal pizza, I just don’t consider the base bread. I guess technically it is since it’s dough, but it doesn’t correlate as bread to me!

I am thinking of a different kind of bread
