@Georgia I’m lucky to get 2 meals a day 😂😭 I’m home alone as my partner has gone back to work so by the time I’m finished with baby I’m doing stuff round the house and forget to eat. I have got the fybogel sachets to start having daily x
@Amy yeah I feel that, mine is 5 weeks snd a 2 year old and I'm alone 5 days a week, I forget to drink and change myself haha haven't had a bath in like 4 days 😅 maybe try snack when you can and get some fibre in there. When you are doing your jobs just grab a snack, I have snacks all around the house 🤣 xx
Are you breastfeeding? I suffered with constipation while breastfeeding with my first and I’ve had it again this time around and baby takes all your fluids. Increase your water intake if so! I also get constipated on iron tablets it’s quite common. The lactoluse should be working though, could you try increasing how much you take? Sometimes caffeine can worsen constipation so maybe limit the coffee x
I’ve made sure to do a good healthy food shop this week and managed to have breakfast and lunch today. I’m not a coffee drinker at all but I will do anything to not be constipated. I’m bottle feeding. I will admit I’m not drinking even a flask of water a day but would get through loads when I was pregnant. I really need to get back into the swing of things. I was on iron tablets my whole pregnancy and it didn’t make me constipated but I guess it’s the other medication. I’m on 30ml of the lactulose a day, what would you take? X
Hi, iron tablets are a bad one for constipation...had the same issue recently so feel your pain! 🥴 it got me looking into increasing fibre in my diet. Dried apricots are a good snack, you only need 5 or 6 to get 1 of your 5 a day. Prunes and apples are good for fibre too and easy to snack on, as are nuts. Beans are a great source of fibre - beans on toast is an easy quick meal too. Make sure the bread is brown, brown bread another good source of fibre. Apparently caffeine not good for constipation, probably cos its a diuretic but just make sure you drink plenty water around your coffee. Fill up a water bottle and have it handy. I'm only just doing this now, makes it easier when you're feeding, nap trapped etc! I found getting a few of these in a day can start to get things going Xx
@Amy I think you can go up to 45ml a day. Check the leaflet if you have it or with a doctor first, but I’m sure you can increase it. And it would be worth a try. And definitely increase your water intake as that should help massively xx
I know ion tablet can make you constipated too. I can't tolerate the ion tablet so I'm taking only liquid one. I remembered I had similar issue with my bowel. A midwife advised me peppermint tea, walking around too smd this is how I started having gas and eating more vegetables and fibre. Now I'm back to normal. Try to drink more water as well. Lactulose also help me until I stopped using it. If you are having some wind it's good sign too but obviously have small meal too
Are you breastfeeding? Your body will take all your fluid to produce your milk, and your poop goes super dry and hard! For me lactulose helped a lot and drink drink drink
Are you getting enough fibre in your diet? I was like this with my first and ended up that I needed a bit more fibre in my diet x
