I’ve got them and will use them. Used them with my first born too x
@Hannah i feel like there is just an issue with absolutely everything its so hard to know what to do x
@Steph not sure what is wrong with them? Their arms are up and can move in them. Just helps with startle reflexes and you can take off the swaddle part on the older ones anyways x
Basically anything other than an empty cot/basket with a sleeveless sleeping bag or cellular blanket is not classed as ‘safe sleeping’ so midwives and health visitors etc cant recommend them.
We used them with our first and intend to use them this time round too. As Hannah has said, their arms can move in them, so not sure of the issue 🤷♀️ Obviously at first signs of them possibly rolling, you’ll want to move them into a sleeveless bag but that isn’t going to happen in the short term. Of course though, you need to do whatever you feel comfortable with xx
@Mia thank you xx
I agree with another comment, you get told you can’t do anything and on what evidence? If baby likes it then fine, some babies wont like it
@Hannah agreed x
The midwife(never been a mum) at the NHS antenatal class said that swaddling with a blacket is best because if the sleep bag is to big then the baby can slip into it and it can cover airways. Midwife(mum of 2) at private antenatal class said both are fine 🤷♀️ I got love to dream bags and plan to use them. they come with weight/size advice but obviously if I have a tiny baby I will probably wait to use them until they are the size the bag suggests. My health visitor came for the pre baby visit and was very happy with the love to dream swaddles. Midwives, health visitor and everyone really have there own opinions on what is safe 🤷♀️ and depending on who you talk to they all give different advice
@Alexandra just had the midwife round and she said they were fine! Panic over x
I heard this too from the midwife at the antenatal classes held at my hospital. She said the sleeveless ones are fine at night but not the covered ones due to their arms needing to be free to move at night. She did say though that the ones we bought should be fine to swaddle during the day, including supervised naps
