Sleeping all day, awake all night.

Anyone else’s newborn sleeping all day and up all night? I cannnot take much more of it im trying to express (as he wont latch) every 3hrs on top of taking care of my 15 month old through the day! My first born was great through the night and we are barley getting any sleep what’s so ever because he wants fed near enough ever hour at night!

Try wake him in the day to feed often. Not sure what else but hopefully someone else will have some ideas

My one is currently having cat naps during the day and night 😒

Sounds like days and nights are back to front. Try waking them regularly during the day, getting outside as much as possible and when they are awake during the day try doing stuff like tummy time to tire them out x

@Josie thank you! Yeah he’s only allowed out if necessary as he’s not been home for NICU for 3 month yet it’s a hassle, he was born at 32 week so I need to wake him ever 2-3 hrs anyway for a feed xx

@Melissa it’s not ideal 😢 🥱

@Megan thank you!

@Nikki oh bless him! Even try putting him under a window with blinds up to get him exposed to as much natural light as possible. My first was a great sleeper now my second is awful it really has shown me what new born sleep can be like 😂 x

@Josie omg same! My first was amazing at sleeping she still is! This second born.. damn he’s a night owl!!x

I could have written this myself and it's only just started now, at 7 weeks. He refuses to be awake during the day, I have tried but he just goes into deep sleep

Try and get him to eat more during the day so he’s full for night? Do you bath him before bed or anything? Xx

@Laura Isi same!

Hey Nikki, my little one is very similar and also born at 33wks. He just came off oxygen last week. They haven't said anything about not having him outside though? My problem is the little one loves being out in the pram snoozing away. So taking him outside makes zero difference. It feels like he literally only wakes up angry and wanting a feed then goes back to sleep. I have little to no awake time with him and it's getting me down because he doesn't have much personality despite now being nearly 11 weeks. (4 corrected)

@Alanna yes I feel the exact same way as you are feeling my boys 7 weeks today (but due date was in 2 days time) so I’m excited to see where these next few weeks will take us with wake windows! Congratulations to your little one coming off oxygen!x
