Blocked nose

How can I help my 8 month old baby to breathe well. She has a cold and is coughing at the same time. I gave her some cough syrup and calpol but she is struggling to breathe and sleep.

When mine had a blocked nose recently we had to use a snot sucker

We're in the same boat. She hates the snot sucker but it definitely helps briefly. Lots of cuddles and keeping her warm during the day, and calpol at night (plus she ends up in our bed to nurse/cosleep which I know not everyone wants to do).

Get a Calpol plug in or if you have a humidifier get some Vic's drops or Olbas oil the water vapor and drops help clear their airways xxx

Saline spray and also humidifier.You can also run a bath and make sure it’s steamy and have your baby sit in there.This will help with congestion. My LG had the same and GP told me that he won’t prescribe any cough syrup.You just need to wait it out.Also try and pace the bottle feeding so that your baby can breath and doesn’t choke on the milk
