I move my little girl out of a crib at 6 months old . To a floor bed and she been on a floor bed since 6 months old and sleeps great.
My LG was 18 months cause she was climbing out the cot ( I was 35 wks pregnant with my LB) we tried the side off but that didn’t work we ended up getting her a double bed with side panels built in and she loves her big bed less chance of failing out and if she wakes or is poorly one of us can get in her bed .. its all new so it’s not easy to begin with but they soon get the hang of it xxx
I hit 18-24 months by accident while scrolling but it was actually around 2.5 years old. We have the cribs that convert into toddlers beds and made the switch when they started climbing out of the cribs. It was a bit of a struggle when they realized they could get up and walk around, but if the room is completely black and they go to bed sleepy but not overtired then they will stay in the beds and fall asleep the same as they did in the cribs.
He was 2.5 and just did it in the morning so he would have a practice run for nap. He never had an issue. Stayed in bed all night and slept well. I think it’s when you transition too early that you get the issue of them staying in bed.
I got my daughter a toddler bed when she was 2.5 years cuz I wanted her to be in a toddler bed before her little sister was born (6 months later). I hyped her up for it first and let her pick the color and stuff and then I let her sit with me while I put it together and she was sooooo excited to sleep in it I was honestly surprised and she has slept in it every night since
Floor bed once they could crawl
my bf did it cold turkey at around 20 months. i would have preferred waiting a bit longer but it turned out fine, she transitioned really smoothly. the first night she stayed in the bed, but now after a few months the only problem is that she can get up and open the door which makes bedtime harder sometimes
My 3 year old went to her floor bed at 2 from cosleeping x
Once they start trying to climb out the crib it's just safer. Don't over think just do it
Just before 3 when he was night potty training, that way he can take himself to the toilet himself which took him a couple weeks to work out. He falls out most nights and just sleeps on the floor bed
When my first climbed out of her cot, we delayed it for a short time but then just put her in a single bed with a side bar as we were worried she could hurt herself in the night if she climbed out of a cot and fell
My girl never used her crib we co slept up until now she is 2.5 years old we have tried to get her in a crib or bed but she just won’t have it . Only now as she is getting older she wants her own bed
Our girl was climbing her crib so we took the front off and kept the sides up to make it her toddler bed. It was rough at first but we made her room a safe space and added stuffed animals to help her feel “enclosed” and she liked it that way. Now she’s sleeping on the bottom bunk of her big girl bed (another baby due in March) and loves it especially with all her babies
