I wouldn’t take these on an empty stomach or they’re likely to make you feel ill. It’s recommended for maximum absorption but most people don’t take well to them. I have mine right after breakfast with orange juice. As long as you avoid caffeine for an hour before or after then you’re fine! X

Really common side effect. Try taking it with food instead of empty stomach - some people find it helps! (Advise is for an empty stomach so you get maximum absorption of the dose but something is better than nothing!)
If you still can’t tolerate it, you can try ask for a different version of iron - again some people find helpful.
If still not able to take it, discuss an iron infusion 😊

Not practical but I normally wake in the middle of the night for the toilet and take my iron tablet then. It’s on an empty stomach and I go back to sleep after so don’t feel the sickness

I’m having the same problems, it makes me feel really hungry but sick at the same time. Been told to take first thing with fresh juice and not eat for a hour after. My symptoms are getting worse and I feel so rubbish all the time. I have another appointment tomorrow about it so may have more information then x
