Baby gagging himself w hands

My one year old has gotten into the habit of sticking his fingers in his mouth and making himself gag sometimes to the point of throwing up. It’s been a new behavior over the past couple of weeks. It’s not every day, but he’ll usually do it for 2 days then stop doing it. The two places he’s managed to gag himself to the point of throwing up are in his pack n play (when he’s in there playing while I do things around the house) and in his crib when I’ve put him down for a nap (he’s protesting a nap and he’ll gag himself). From what I’ve seen online, it’s a phase and a exploration thing. He hasn’t made himself throw up a lot, but it’s happened at least 4 times over the past 2ish months. I’m not overly worried about it. Just wondering if I’m the only one dealing with this. Anyone else?

Mine is doing the same at 11 months not to throwing up but to gagging and I am just redirecting him for now but I also would like it to stop 😂 I read about it online before and was hoping we would be lucky and not have him doing it 😮‍💨

My son does it as well 🥲

My son does this as well 🫠

Yes my son just started. My daughter did it too at this age. It's 100% a phase. The best thing you can do is ignore. He'll realize for himself that it's not a good feeling, and stop.
