I am extremely extroverted, I have never bullied a fly, I in fact tend to become closer to the introverts, my best friend being one and the father of my baby being one!
I think its because introverts are easy targets. The bullies know the chances of them speaking out about it are very, very slim and even if they do, introverts arent typically taken very seriously.
I think as someone who viewed myself as introvert and was bullied until i started standing up for myself… I now realize I was autistic and I was being bullied for being autistic … and it doesn’t matter what I did or say autistics give uncanny valley feelings to allistics. So we make some people uncomfortable. Especially narcissists and bullies. And a lot of us autistics are introverted because we are busy observing… granted there are some autistics that are social butterflies but I see they get bullied too cuz a lot of us are naive and don’t understand what’s going on and we would take things at face value a lot which makes us easy targets. And is also part of the reason I’m sure that afab autistics are 9/10 times likely to be SA.
I had selective mutism until I was 12 years old. It caused me a plethora of problems and resulted in me being heavily bullied and depressed as a child. It wasn’t until I became a teenager that I “snapped out” of it and gotten into my first physical fight in school. I’m still to this day very introverted but I also learned how to be social enough in public to where I’m no longer a target to anyone.
