Dose of omeprazole?!

We give 2.9 ml omeprazole liquid once a day. Same dosage with the tablets, which we used for a bit first.

Yours does seem a lot!

I know, right?! I am going to reduce it.

I'd ring and check with the pharmacist. Ours was 5.5kg when initially prescribed and is on 7ml once per day. I wonder if it's down to how severe her symptoms are? Deffo ring to get clarity if you're feeling concerned xx

It depends how it is made up aswell. Originally we were given the tablets to dissolve in 2ml of water but we just couldn’t get it in the syringe then we were given it in liquid form and had to give 10ml and he just hated it and threw it up so the doctor prescribed a more concentrated version which we can give 5ml of and then he says if we don’t get on with that there is a 2.5ml version but it’s super expensive and the nhs don’t like prescribing it

it's so difficult to tell as we've changed so many things. We've hid his tongue tie released twice, tried comfort milk, colief drops, probiotics, milk thickener, osteopath, slower teats, different bottles and all the usual pace feeding and keeping him upright 30 mins after feeds. So yes overall the reflux has got better but I couldn't say whether it's actually down to what we've been doing or it naturally improving due to him getting older and the stomach sphincter becoming stronger. It's so hard to tell.. but if I had a baby with bad symptoms I'd try it again because who knows. We did stop it for about 5 days as he had a bad choking episode while taking it and scared me to death. But his reflux was very bad one night after that and we decided to restart xx

i knew they'd be able to do this! I was saying it to my partner the other day as my boy can't keep it down and the hospital gave him a stronger dose of calpol once so I was like omg why can't we do this with the omeprozole! Hoping we don't have to use it as he matures but who knows xx
