Erm…yeah when I said I had complications was both of us before and after birth. I just want to do it all different this time round, I have more knowledge n support than last time but feel like need more information Didn’t find the support group I could find in my city, wasn’t very helpful. was long way to travel n then as had no choice to combi feed for medical n weight reasons n felt like was being judged wen had to give her bottle after trying to breast feed her and she never would while there. Feel like was pump, either not right or I needed more helped how to get supply up but there’s didn’t seem to be any support so just did what could. one I had was wired to wall n with combi feeding - all felt overwhelming and never ending cycles. Isolation really - As had no knowledge or support about pumps especially portable versions so wanted more info n ppls experience about those as well as I’m asking for more support before tho gs happen this time.
I had the Elvie Stride and it worked well for me, although I only used it once little one was older so I can't say whether it would have been good enough if I'd needed it to support my supply in the early days. Rather than focusing on the "right pump", you'd be better off finding your local breastfeeding support groups/drop-ins, or finding recommendations for a lactation consulatant if you can afford one. Most people's breastfeeding issues stem from difficulties with baby's latch, and/or misinterpreting normal newborn behaviour for signs that their milk supply isn't good enough. Tapping into expert support should help you to get up and running effectively with breastfeeding. You shouldn't need to pump at all in the early days if breastfeeding gets off to a good start!
