BLW
How do you guys do baby led weaning? I put food on my sons plate and all he does it play with it tossing it hand to hand he doesn’t put anything to his mouth. If I try to take something off his plate to eat it he continuously turns his head away until I stop. But if I feed him off a spoon out of something pureed or soft not in his plate he eats it.
I’m having an issue with textures too . He has a hard time eating any textures. His diet consists of yoghurt, those pouches of baby food or puréed apples, avocado, bananas smoothies or baby cereal. What do I do?🫤
Playing with the food is unfortunately one of the parts of BLW 😅 but it sounds like your son is like mine and takes it to the next level! I see videos of other babies eating stuff like egg strips and mine just squishes it to oblivion. I’ve decided to feed him purées so he actually gets some food in him and can learn new tastes, and have some BLW food on the side to explore. The exploring and playing part of it is supposed to help with accepting new textures so I’d say just keep letting him explore and offer safe versions of whatever you’re eating so he can watch you eat the same stuff. When he’s a little older, talking about the textures in a fun way will definitely help too! Saying things like “let’s see who can find the crunchiest carrot” can make it fun. Of course, right now he can’t have anything crunchy.
