How old would you want your child to be before you took them to a very loud wedding? In my culture weddings have non-stop loud music including live drums. Honestly even my ears hurt by the end of the night.

I’ve never taken my first anywhere like that yet out of fear the music will be too loud for his tiny little hearing. But I’m trying to plan my 2nd pregnancy around my sisters wedding and my baby will hypothetically be 6-10 months ish. Is that too young? I plan to use noise cancelling headphones, but any other recommendations are welcome. TIA x

Noise canceling headphones would be super helpful so you can still attend without hurting babies hearing ♥️

I took my first at 3months and my 2nd was 2 weeks old. We just left earlier.

Tried noise cancelling headphones for a parade in town with police cars and fire trucks going off and not only would my son not keep them on but he cried the whole time, about 8 months old. He still doesn’t like loud noises unless they’re created by him lol

never weddings are not for kids

I think unless you’ve got a child free wedding then weddings are for anyone invited including children 🤷🏻‍♀️

I took my lo when she was 4 weeks old and she wasn't fazed at all

We took my little one to a wedding at 9 months old… we just avoided the main dance floor with him but it was in a separate room so we were lucky in that way

I took my son to a wedding when he was 8 months old and i put noise canceling headphones on him.

I mean I took my almost 2 week old…. We go to church that had very loud music and we didn’t do anything differently. If something got super loud I would just move away from the speaker or loud thing specifically

At 3 months old we took our son to PBR (always starts with insane indoor pyrotechnics) with noise cancelling headphones and he slept through almost the entire thing. Didn't even wake up for the fireworks. Each baby is different though and some don't like the headphones 🤷🏼‍♀️

unless you are specifically told to not bring kids why would this be the case? Also it’s my sisters wedding, she would be devastated if her nieces/nephews didn’t come!

My son was around 6 months when we took him to a wedding. I didn't even think about the music and it was far too loud for him, he was extremely upset by it and wouldn't settle and I had to keep taking him out so it wasn't that enjoyable. In hindsight headphones would have been helpful and might have made it possible to stay. My son is nearly three now and he still doesn't like loud music so I would definitely use headphones if going to an event even now he's older. I did take baby in a baby carrier which I think is very much needed at this age for an event like this.

I wouldn’t take my children to a wedding until they were out of the toddler stage so 4 years old maybe

Mine have all been to them from birth. Just had noise cancelling headphones on them or took them to a quiet place
