Raspy hoarse voice

My LO is going through a bit of a shouting phase. He will shout when he is excited and happy but also when he is annoyed or upset. This has been going for around a week or so. Yesterday he sounded a bit raspy but today he sounds like he lost his voice. He still tries to shout but his voice is very hoarse. He has been unsettled today I’m assuming due to a sore throat which makes him shout and cry which irritates his throat so it’s all a bit of a vicious cycle! Anything I can do to help him? Tried calpol and baby cough syrup and he has settled for the night but would it be worth seeing GP if he wakes up tomorrow with raspy voice?
