Bf all night still

Anyone else still bf their baby through the night? Some nights she is latched on almost all night and I'm so tired and didn't expect this at 17 months old. Makes me want to give up but I just want to get her through the winter before I stop. Three of her molars have come through and i'm wondering if that is why she feels she has to feed for comfort all night. It doesn't help that I automatically feed her as I don't want her waking the other kids up by crying.

Yep, same here! He has never been a great sleeper but what with teething and illness the last few weeks have been especially bad - co sleeping has been the only way to get some sort of sleep, not sure I've got the energy to try and change things (and like you I haven't wanted to wake my older one by trying anything different to settle him). That said I have heard a couple of people recommend the Jay Gordon approach to night weaning so if there is ever a period of time where we have a break from teething/illness I might attempt it. So no real advice sorry, but you aren't alone in still feeding all night - surely they'll sleep eventually right?!

@Becca so glad I'm not alone. It's getting tougher now as I have a bad cold and the last thing I feel like doing is having a large baby attached to me all night. I can't even put her down next to me in bed without her screaming. She literally has to be on me all night. Totally unsustainable!

@Becky oh it's horrible when you're ill isn't it, can't even have the luxury of suffering in peace! I think separation anxiety peaks around this sort of age and there is another sleep regression (although if you're anything like us it's sometimes hard to tell the difference as regular sleep is so bad!). Hopefully things miraculously start to improve soon
