@Crysta mine is bottle fed but since she’s a newborn she would only sleep if im rocking her first up until today she’s just pushing away and fighting me took me 45 min of rocking for her to finally fall asleep …. Its upsetting because it worked for us for so long as a first time mom i feel completely lost on what to do now
Mine does this too when she wants to be put down, she’ll finish her bottle and turn away and push against me a little and i just put her in her crib and she’s out
@Laurie see I tried to do that but she was just not having it either
@Laurie do you think maybe she’s ready for sleep training and it’s a sign
Time for sleep training! My daughter was the same way. She is nursed to drowsy and then I put her in her crib. Sometimes she cries a little bit but she’s always out within 5 mins and will sleep 3-4 hours straight.
@Laurie mine did this and I was really upset missed her, but then suddenly the last few nights she wants to be rocked again 😄 can't make her mind up this girl
Mine did this at 5 months. The only way I could get him down was pram walks or the car and I did this for about 1 month but it was unsustainable. I had to sleep train and it was tough for 2 days but we got through it and he stopped asking for support day and night x
Yup my LG started doing this around 5.5mo and it was the start of putting her down 'drowsy but awake'. Now she's 10mo and very clearly lets me know when she wants me to leave her alone to sleep 😅 she will still have occasional contact naps when teething or otherwise struggling to self soothe but I take her cues either way.
My baby has been fighting me since about 4 months when it comes to naps! (Luckily not overnight sleep). He just likes his own space which I understand. We didn't sleep train, but as someone else said your baby might change their mind, it might just be a phase or they're a bit uncomfortable at the moment. Keep offering cuddles
They do this when they’re overtired so it could be that
Following because my son is 9 months, he’s EBF and nurses to sleep and literally will kick me and push me off but stay attached to the nipple while sleeping and I’m thinking it’s because he wants his own sleeping space? Maybe he doesn’t need to nurse to sleep anymore?
