I only contact nap if really need my baby to sleep at the certain time. She is great in the cot, but I put a nest inside of it during the day. We have one from Jukki. I usually put her in there sleepy but not asleep so she is aware she goes in, if she cries I pick her up and calm her for a few mins and try again and 95% of the time she will settle to sleep there. We use white noise, a dummy and I close the blinds to make it dark. We started having 3 naps a day with a long nap between 12 and 2, if she wakes up early I go and settle her back to sleep. The other 2 naps are up to an hour and I wake her up after. She stayes awake up to 2 hours at the time, she is 15 weeks now.
I'm doing a mixture! I was doing all contact naps and thought he needed it for daytime sleep, but I wasn't eating or drinking properly and just focusing on him all of the time. So I started to do cot naps and have been pleasantly surprised with how well he sleeps in there, it's the same as a contact nap. I try to do our big nap in the cot and then the morning one is usually out and about in the car/pram/carrier and then I have a snuggly contact nap for the last one of the day. I figured the more places he will sleep the better! Do whatever works for you and your baby
I love contact naps. And from experience I contact napped with my eldest for about 6 months and he’s been an amazing sleeper during the night since. Contact naps hinder nothing. And this baby is my last so I’m also making the most of the cuddles and enjoying him being so little as it goes so fast. I will attempt maybe 1 nap a day in the cot soon. More so he’s used to the space ready for when he goes into his own room at night.
Honestly you will blink and these days are gone. Contact nap all you want! ❤️🫶🏽
We contact nap all day unless we’re out. LO has random moments where she’ll fall asleep laying on the sofa when we’re having cuddles or on her play mat. Only time she doesn’t contact nap is at bedtime when she goes into her next to me. If i need to get stuff done upstairs then she’ll happily go into her cot and watch her mobile so we’re getting her used to it that way x
Yes! We do one nap in the cot but she only do 30-40 mins on her own. Then she has the rest on me or in the carrier/pram. She’s probably going to be my last baby so I’m making the most of it. My 3 year old won’t even cuddle me anymore 🥵🥺
