My child just WONT SLEEP!

Pleeeaasseee some one give advice on getting my twins to sleep through the night. My girl wakes up at least 5 times a night( my boy only 2). He isn’t a big deal but she causes so much stress around bed time. She always wants a bottle of juice only if it’s a little bit to get back to sleep! Dummy’s don’t work also 😩

We are the same, at least 4 wake ups every night. It’s so hard isn’t it.

@Kristine so hard. Il do anything for a decent nights sleep 😴

I’m in the same boat. My little one also doesn’t nap in the day often. I’ve recently come across proprioceptive activities to tire him out and help sleep.. it seems to calm him down more so I’m hoping for better sleep soon!

@Ferdusi I might have a look into that! Hopefully it gets better for you soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Thank you! Hoping you find a solution soon too. There’s a few different things, my boy needs more ‘heavy work’ lol as just running around doesn’t get all the madness out his system. There’s also some massage techniques like applying pressure etc before bedtime.

😂 I’m laughing because your daughter reminds me of my daughter and her grin lol such a cutie! On a serious note, my daughter is the same so what I done and notice a difference was I gave her warm baths before sleep, the days she didn’t have baths it would be a wipe down with a flannel just so she feels fresh. I give her massages as well, because all that running around I’m sure her joints are tired (I don’t know, just my thoughts) I also ensure she’s full before bed, I give her warm porridge or a bottle of milk. Lavender pillow mist around her bed. I noticed she was getting cold in the night and she wouldn’t sleep so I got a sleep suit from next which keeps her cosy and now she sleeps. There are days where she does wake up and thinks it’s a party and she starts dancing and singing 😂😂

I would ditch bottles and juice and instead offer water in a cup - may help x

@Lady P awww bless she sounds like she knows what she likes! ❤️

All I could suggest is tonnes of fresh air and a warm bath before bed, white noise helps my LO fall into a deep sleep sometimes and apparently magnesium really aids sleep so maybe there’s a kid friendly supplement for that Also making sure there’s enough time between their nap and bedtime and keeping them warm enough in the night, my LO only really wakes up when he’s kicked off his blankets and is a little chilly Hope it gets easier for you soon🤞🏻 xx

I hope this doesn’t come across bad, but the fit in the car seat here isn’t safe at all. If you were in a crash, the harness wouldn’t save her life, and I couldn’t pass by without saying it. For some friendly advice it may be worth posting on here. They will also suggest rear facing. But even if you decide to continue to forward face, just make sure the straps are as close to the neck as possible, and coming out at shoulder height. Also search the triangle method to get the twists out of the harness. Again, I really mean nothing bad by this, and would hate to come across judgemental! As I say, I just would hate for something to happen and me not have said anything! https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1D2nu9rDTw/?mibextid=wwXIfr

@Xanthe yes this is because she was sitting in her brothers car seat at the time. But yes I know that this is not the correct one for her

@Kayleigh thank you for your suggestions xx

@Adele that’s totally fine! As I say, I just wanted to mention it as there is such limited information out there!

My girl is a poor sleeper and always has been! Multiple wakes up every night. I have a 7 week old baby and he is actually sleeping better than my toddler 😂😂😂

@Taylor I feel better now knowing it’s not just me

@Xanthe no I appreciate you pointing it out 😌 she was in his one because hers was soaking wet

We’ve found that a kids magnesium body lotion or butter works well for helping our little one with sleep. This is the one we’re using right now: https://betteryou.com/products/magnesium-sleep-kids-lotion They’ve a spray version too. Hope it gets easier soon!

@Jessica I was looking into these and the ‘night time’ gummies but apparently can’t use them till she’s 3 😩

Can I just ask how she goes to sleep at night? Does she settle by herself or does she need to be put to sleep? This often has an impact on wakes on the night and how they get themselves back to sleep. I would definitely go cold turkey on the juice - it might be tough for a couple of nights but it’s just changing habit.

@Emily Timbrell I do leave the room, they have each other. But she won’t go to sleep without a bottle 😩 I think I need to get some small plastic cups they can drink from during the day they are too reliant

@Adele the better you lotion is for 1+ :)

@Jessica il defo invest in this and see how it goes thank you x

@Adele the Munchkin Miracle 360 cups might help with your other dilemma too. Our little one still needs some milk at bedtime but we’ve completely removed bottles and he has one of these cups for bedtime if needed - we also use in the day too when we don’t want to use an open cup. https://amzn.eu/d/6XIqIdK
