‘Routine’

Is anyone else’s baby in zero routine, has no ‘bed time’ and when they do finally settle for the night it’s 11/12pm? She’s very unpredictable with feeds, bottle fed and just feeds when she wants? Feel there is so much pressure to have them in a routine and sleeping through?! I’m fairly relaxed but am wondering if I’m the only one in this boat?!

You’re not the only one we don’t really have a routine but baby doesn’t really go to bed until 11pm and will sleep 2-3 hours. Why do you feel pressure? The only person a routine can affect is you and baby and if your both happy then stuff what others think. We are all different and so are our babies As long as you are both happy and healthy that’s the important thing x

I just bring baby to bed when I’m going to bed, she feeds when she wants and sleeps when she’s tired 🤷🏻‍♀️ Routines at this stage won’t make a baby sleep through the night, or ever tbh. I’ve had a solid routine with my toddler since he was very small and he’s still unpredictable. You’re better being relaxed!

Same here! As my boy is so unpredictable I can’t really stress about the routine hoping to start slowly once he is more settled and calm possible from 3 months mark

Absolutely zero routine here. We wing every day. She sleeps when she wants, eats when she wants and luckily she knows the difference between night and day. She sleeps in 5 hour intervals at night 😁

Honestly I wouldn't worry. My near 2 year old has only been in a solid routine for 6m and even then it's still unpredictable sometimes. If you feel relaxed just carry on, one less thing to stress about😂 but my baby is also in 0 routine, he's happy that's the main thing

Currently sitting here trying to get little one to sleep! Zero routine at all x

Same here, little girl doesn’t have a routine. The only thing we have in place in bath every second night and at 9:30-10pm we go upstairs to the bedroom for nighttime but she usually doesn’t go to sleep till about 11/12ish. Me and my partner are night owls and this suits us more as she sleeps longer in the mornings. My LO is only 6 weeks + 5 c

My little girl has naturally got herself into a routine at night. She has a feed at half 9 and then will sleep till 3/4am for a feed and then wake up in the morning at 7/8am. During the day we have no routine at all, she sleeps and feeds whenever she likes 🫣

Day times we totally wing 😃 night time he only goes down to sleep as I wait for the end of an ‘awake window’ then as soon as he gets sleepy I rush to get the bath going dunk him in then dried and in clean night clothes… by the end of it he’s knackered so he falls to sleep, to be honest it’s more for me as I know once he is asleep after that I can get a solid few hours sleep x

Glad to hear it! I’m in no rush! I had a 4 year old too so just work around her mostly 🤣 poor second kid vibes. X

We are also just going with the flow ! I really don't get the obsession with schedules and routines with eating or sleeping..im sick of hearing about wake windows 🤣🤣 baby easts when she signals to and sleeps when she wants and she's doing a pretty good job of having her own little routine. Asleep by 10.30/11pm with 1/2 wake ups between 7 am and then sleeps again till 9. Suits me fine asking can get the others sorted on a morning while she sleeps! X

No routine here, totally winging it each day. Little girl roughly will have a bigger feed between 9pm and 11pm then after that we'll just take her up when we go up. We also tend to do bathtime during the day/early evening. No daytime routine either 😂 We feed on demand and just follow her cues for feeding/sleeping which is different every day
