Baby won’t sleep in cot

Hii everyone, Hope you’re all well! Just looking for a bit of advice really. My LO is 9 months old and he used to sleep so well in his next to be crib, im talking sleeping through most of the night. Of course a couple of months ago he became too big for his next to me, so we had to switch to the cot. At first he slept relatively well but woke up a few more times, but would always go back in. But now he just will not sleep in the cot what so ever, only in bed with us, even though in our bed he sleeps really well, we really need to get him back into his cot as we don’t get the best sleep, find ourselves waking up a lot to check he is ok in the bed still. Every time I try to put him in the cot, even if I am successful and don’t wake him up putting him in, he will wake up 5 minutes later crying. And if I leave him to try and self settle he just stands up, which I worry about because one day he fell to the side and banged his head on the cot, so of course to avoid this happening I just lift him out. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP! Sorry it’s so long but I need some tips to get him to sleep in his own space again. 😢

Also, yes I have tried a cot mobile, white noise and tired leaving him a bit to settle xx

I’ve not tried this cos my LO is not old enough to sleep in his own room but I saw something online about laying on the floor and they will lay down in their cot to be closer to you and fall asleep whereas standing near the cot will make them think they are going to be picked up. Let me know if this works as I’m curious!

@Sarah hiii this is a very good idea !! 😊 but I forgot to also mention the cot is still next to our bed so I lie down in The bed and he can see me I pretend to be asleep ! And I’ve even tried leaving the room to see if that works to but nope 🥹 xx

Oh no :(

None of my 3 children would sleep in a cot they would cry to be in bed with us. So we have had 3 sleep in bed with us until they got to about 2 years old and then each one of them settled in their own bed. But still my 3 year old needs one of us in his bed to fall asleep at night. I I just think it’s such a short time they are so young it’s nice to give them that love whilst they are young. It goes so fast before you know it they are independent and at school so just make the most out of it.

we’re having the exact same issue with my little boy at the moment!

My son was the same when he grew out of his next me. He was ok his crib for few weeks of that then just was ok our bed. I'm the end around 1 years I got a floor bed for him and he sleeps really well now and loves it.
