Daytime naps

What are we all doing for daytime naps? My baby sleeps in a love to dream swaddle in the evening with a rockit to help him settle and he sleeps really well but in the day he will only sleep in the pram when we are out and moving, car seat or on me. All contact naps. I love the contact naps but sometimes need my hands free to do things and I have read you should keep day and night different so I don’t want to use his swaddle or make the room dark etc. I have a moses basket downstairs for naps but he won’t go down. Any tips on how you get them napping in the day? Also, if you use a swaddle at night what do you use in the day?

Have you tried putting him down for a nap where he sleeps at night? I usually let him take his first nap in the bedroom in his next to me cot. Before this he only slept on me so had to use a carrier or sit still in the sofa. Never used a swaddle so can’t help you in that sense. My boy is soon 3 months.

I have a camera on him due to the bedroom being upstairs.

The swing is a life saver

Mine is 7w and previously he would only nap if we were out, I really struggled getting him to nap at home. Last week I started getting him to nap in his pram with the rockit on, downstairs in the day light. I would only put him down when he looked tired and would push the pram until he slept - then keep the rockit on whilst he’s sleeping. He would be in his usual day outfit, etc. For the last week I’ve been putting him in his next to me cot, but with the blinds open, and playing wind sounds (our baby monitor has that option) and I put him in a sleep bag for warmth, I don’t swaddle. So it’s still a sleep setting but different from the evening, and I’m managing to get him to nap for up to an hour like this! X
