Ferber method

Teaching my daughter to fall asleep by herself she’s nine months but she gets up in the crib and I’m scared that she’ll let go and hit her head. Do I still let her stand up or do I put her back down every time she gets up?

If she isn’t crying or that then just leave her be, or at least that’s what i would do but idk the Ferber method

Let her stand. She might hit her head sometimes but that’s how she learns how to do it right. Don’t go in until she starts crying and lay her back down. My daughter stands all the time and sometimes she will lay down on her own when she’s tired of standing.

@Kels🌸 and do I put her awake and go or she has to be asleep or drowsy

I would put her in there drowsy but awake. It will teach her how to self sooth. It’s hard at first but if you stay consistent it gets so much easier!

Just keep being consistent. And when there are sleep regressions, ride it out and sleep train again.

It’s the only way I know how to get a kiddo to sleep properly at night. Everyone I know who didn’t sleep train has a terrible sleep most nights and they don’t like their life lol

@Jadie thank you I feel that a lot of parents judge us over a sleep training which I think is stupid. Whatever works for you works for you but don’t be judging other parents. I had people telling me. I shouldn’t let her cry and it’s gonna teach her that I’m not there for her and I’m like can you mind your business?

@Emilia best thing we ever did was sleep training.

Who cares what other people think or say. If your method works for you and your child, that’s allll that matters. I can recall so many times when people told me to do things a certain way and it made me so uncomfortable. I’ve been told: Give up on breastfeeding(went on to breast feed for another 17 months) Have to spank my child to discipline. Never felt good about that. Instead I am patient and we use our words calmly and redirect. It has brought tantrums down so much instead of flying off the handle and spanking her.
