How to get baby to sleep longer at night - bottle formula feeding

My baby boy is 12 weeks old, and he’s still waking up in the night for food every 3 hours or so, whereas during the day he can go anywhere between 3 - 5 hours. We are bottle feeding, he takes between 5-6oz of formula per bottle. Has anyone found anything that has helped their babies get longer stretches at night? 🤞🏼 - one tired mama 😴

My girl is 13 weeks and same as your boy! At a push she sometimes gives me 4 hours on the first stretch then at times goes 2 hours🥴 was kind of hoping she would be going a bit longer by now😂😂 x

At 12 weeks that's entirely normal to feed that often. If he's feeding that often then he needs to feed that often. Their tummies are only small.

Loud white noise and dark bedroom keep our girl asleep, I often have to wake her to feed after an 8hr stretch. We also give a big bottle before bed to fill her up.

Try feed every 3 hours in the day to keep full up -bed routine ?

@Georgie this is exactly how my girls room is and she still wakes for feeds 🥴😂

Is what it is at this stage unfortunately. I wouldn’t let him go more than 3 hours during the day for a feed. I try to make sure he gets full feeds during the day and it has helped at night getting 6 hour stretches from 11. But I know it won’t stay this way as there’s so many growth spurts and regressions along the way! Xx

I’d offer every 3 hours in the daytime and try a slightly bigger bottle at bedtime x

There are a number of things that help with sleep consolidation. I do all of these and have built them into our routine over time. Got our first stretch over 9 hours last night. - wake baby during a consistent half hour every morning - nap and bedtime routines - play white noise all night & room dark as possible (may help with naps too if those aren't going great) - feed every 3 hours in the day at least - cap day naps at 2 hours and at 3 months overall day sleep at 5 hours - follow wake windows, we use huckleberry https://huckleberrycare.com/blog/3-month-old-sleep-schedule-and-development - I bf but do a bottle of formula in his last wake window, 6oz, and bf him as well. - my baby sleeps better if he has a bath so started doing that every day in bedtime routine Hopefully some of this helps
