Managing sleep

How are you managing sleepless nights with your baby? Our little boy was a fab sleeper until the 4 month sleep regression. We’ve never fully recovered from that and have now rolled into the 6 month one, which is so much worse. He won’t settle at all, and I spend all night holding his hand in his crib (next to my bed) as he wakes every 1/2 hour or so. This week he now won’t even go down at all, even when we follow the usual routine. Last night we co-slept for the first time and I hated it as I just don’t feel comfortable/ safe and don’t want him to get used to it. How do you manage sleepless nights with your partner, eg taking it in turns, sleeping elsewhere, shifts etc.? We need a longer term plan for how to survive!

I literally wrote very similar to this in despair last night 🙈 glad to know its not just me!

@Chelsea so soul destroying 😩 but good to know we aren’t alone!

My little one is 7 months and has only slept through 3 nights, she has a solid sleep from about 1-4am if lucky then I put her in my bed but I stay awake then, so I zombie everyday, my minds numb and my actions are autopilot 😂 going to try and put her in her own room this week see if it makes a difference, just to let you know you’re not alone!! Sometimes my partner will go on the sofa but so I can have more room with baby in bed but like you I don’t like it but it’s been the only way I can grab a couple hours😩

@Laura yes, he’s only ever slept through the night twice in 6.5 months! So with you on the autopilot, feel like I’ve been on survival mode for months. Best of luck with moving her into her own room - if it’s a success I might follow suit! 🩵
