I used to try to keep her awake for 3 hours between each nap but I heard somewhere that nap gaps should be 2/3/4 so they have a short one in the morning and longer before bed to help build sleep pressure. We’ve been doing this with our little girl and it works really well 😊
@Jo this is definitely true, the days that I think I make his bedtime nap shorter than bedtime he sleeps horrible . But if he actually naps well before bedtime he sleeps better
She only manages 2 hours on a morning then 3/3.5 for her other two
Yeah mine only manages 2 hours and that's when I put him in his cot. After this it's 3 hours and then 3.5-4 hours. He goes to nursery in a month and I'm worried as he will be needing a sleep pretty much every time as soon as he gets there as he does wake up around 6am x
How do you calculate the 2 / 3 / 4 ? Nap 1 - 2 hours from first wake up? Nap 2 - 3 hours from second wake up? Bedtime - 4 hours from third wake up?
2.5 hours
@Shruti yeah exactly that, she wakes up at 7:30 so I put her in bed around 9:30, then whenever she wakes up (normally between 10:30 and 11) i put her in bed about 3/3.5 hours after so half 1 or 2 then I let her sleep for as long as she needs but wake her at 4 if she’s not awake and then there’s at least 3 if not 4 hours before bed at 7 xx
Mine LB usually stays awake 2-3 hours but sometimes throws a wild card and does 4/5 hours
About 3 hours 3.5 sometimes x
Em Pa and I xx.k ll
My son goes about 2.5 sometimes 3 hours before he has a nap. Tbh every day differs but most times he goes around 2.5
