We use Huckleberry as a guide but also go by her cues. If I’m honest we still continue life as normal if her falls when we’re out then she’ll go sleep eventually is she’s tried. My LO doesn’t sleep through the night but I’m the same as Siobhan - if the nap is due 17:30ish we just bring bedtime forward oppsed to offering that nap as we finds later bedtime doesn’t work! It’s hard work for us mummas! Xxx
@Paige-Louise makes me feel better about keeping his awake 😂
@Siobhan we do the same, so you’ve made me feel better ! We try to keep the rule if the nap ‘starts’ last 17:30, being bedtime forward. So I’m with you, doesn’t work for everyone but works for us .. for now. As give it a few more weeks and I’m sure it will all change again! X
We use wake windows rather than a clock schedule. This accommodates flexibility around plans as some days it may be a short nap and others it may be a longer one depending what we have on that day. Bedtime still usually ends up around the same time each day because total nap time is around the same each day
I personally just let my little one nap when he needs it, if it’s close to bed time so around 7 and his naps around 5:30/6 I push to keep him awake till 6:30 and start doing bedtime from 6:15, keep in mind he does not sleep through the night! He stopped sleeping through mid November/december time!
