Sleep advice

Hi, my little boy is 6 months old and he only seems to sleep well when he co-sleeps with me. (No judgement please, we co-sleep as safe as possible he’s got no duvets on him just his sleep bag). He usually sleeps in a next to me but he’ll wake at least 3-4 times crying in there whereas in my bed he’ll wake maybe once for a feed. I need tips on getting him to sleep in his own bed because we move house next month and he’ll be transitioning to his cot ready to go in his own room. Even if he’s right next to me in his own bed he doesn’t settle unless he’s in my bed and I’d love to finally get a bit more sleep 😴 I should add, he is breastfed at night.

No judgement, or advice as my LO co sleeps with me at 1 years old. Never thought I’d co sleep but we both get a better nights sleep. I know in time she will eventually go in her bed 🫣

hi mama! i wanted to add, i never did co-sleeping. no judgement at all! but.. i used to hold her and rock her to sleep and i was really bad with it ro where she kept waking up. your baby just wants the comfort, i think trying to put them in their own area is what helped me. ❤️but you also gotta try to do it when your baby feels ready, and take naps when they nap!

Is his sleep bag warm enough? My breastfed baby wakes often when he’s cold. He likes his room warm. I started putting a hot water bottle in his cot to warm up the mattress (take it out before baby goes in) on colder nights.

I had this issue... my now 10 month old (as of yesterday) sleep in her crib with just a sleep sac I rolled up bath sheets (XL BATH TOWELS)& placed them on each side of her and one on head area the one on the side she favors most I wrapped my turban inside so she had my scent...it works! I recently (6 days ago) started adding half a table spoon of rice ceareal to her night bottle she gives me a good 6-7 hours at night now Good luck!!

@Jess I think so, he never feels cold. The room is always around 20 degrees and he has a 2.5 tog, vest & onsie! I’ll try the hot water bottle trick though thanks!

@GIOVANNA good tip I will try that thank you

@Sascha maybe try putting the temperature up a little more. When baby co-sleeps he has your body temp to keep him warmer so putting him in his bed on his own he may be cold. My baby sleeps well on his own when the temp in closer to 25°. At his age he still can’t regulate his body temp properly
