@Rachel ahh thank you! Yes I am waiting 10-14 days and if it doesn’t work then it’ll be soy and potentially egg following that too. Luckily the doctor thinks she has a relatively mild allergy x
Not the answer you're looking for but could you please tell me what symptoms you experienced with your baby? Currently wondering if my 9 week old had cmpa too!
Sorry for this being so long winded! Tips/advice mainly is to invest in substitutes! Get the good barista alternative milk for your coffee, a giant tub of flora, and even if you love meat look into vegan options for things because there are some good ones out there. Be reallllly careful eating out, check the allergen menu every time. And I was recommended to cut out egg and soy on top of dairy then reintroduce each at a time because those allergic to dairy are often allergic to those as well. It was hard af to stop all 3 but luckily she’s only got the dairy allergy so I’m back on the other two
@Shannon that’s really good to know about the ‘may contain’ as I was worried about that. Ahhhh no way is Aldi garlic bread dairy free?! We had spag bol for tea but I didn’t have any because we assumed the garlic butter would have milk in it 🙈 x
@Taylor she has had reflux for quite a while now, she is very uncomfortable after feeds and often screams in pain with trapped wind, it has affected her sleep recently at night and during the day and she now has a rash on her face, chest and tummy after she’s had my milk. I definitely recommend phoning the GP as he quickly ruled out other things by asking me simple questions! X
@Allie awww poor little baby! You’re absolutely smashing it! 🥺 We’ve been back and forth to the doctors and urgent care with various symptoms since she was around 8 weeks old. Nobody had put 2 and 2 together and said it could be CMPA. I phoned up and made an appointment and after a long discussion he said his diagnosis is reflux and CMPA and advised me to cut out dairy and monitor over the next 10-14 days to see if it makes a difference x
@Allie thank you so much that’s so helpful! The doctor I saw today said that if things don’t improve in the next 10-14 days then the next step would be cutting out soy and then egg to rule out those too. I can’t even imagine how hard cutting all 3 out is but I’ll do anything if it means she is in less pain! Im glad your little girl wasn’t allergic to all 3. Fingers crossed she can eventually start having some dairy back into her diet as it must be so hard x
Yes it’s soo worth it to see them well 🙏 I hope either way you get some answers soon and baby gets better!
Really check the small print on everything. My sister had to do this and found there was milk powder in some herbs and spices, some brands of chorizo etc. It takes a good few weeks to be fully out of the system. She ended up having to cut out soy and egg too, these things can go hand in hand.
