Crying when asleep

Does anyone else’s little one cry when they are asleep and continue to be asleep as if nothing has happened? My 3 month old, seems to cry whilst asleep for a few seconds and stops either on his own or once I have consoled him. It’s a different cry to if he is wanting a feed.

Yes. I think it's nightmares. Our LG does this but her cries are terrifying I need to wake her up. She settles omce she sees me. She's 16 w.

Yep it's part of active sleep - nothing to worry about... Babies are weird lol

@Raluca babies don’t have nightmares until 1.5-2years old as they require the development of fears and imagination which they don’t have, they’re just unsettled or in active sleep x

Yeah both my babies have done this! Their brains are developing at such a fast rate especially when they sleep so even in the deepest of sleeps, their brains are still ticking!

Yes it perfectly normal and actually a really good sign of their brain developing! It’s such an instant and intense cry isn’t it! It was the same cry my bubba made after his jabs .. makes my hairs stand on end .. you just have to let them do it .. maybe even a very gentle shhh and pat xx

Mine does like a horror film scream cry just one then carries on sleeping. I read it’s when they transition through sleep cycles but no idea why they do it!

It’s called night terrors my little girl has been doing this since 3 months old x

@April I see! Wierd active sleep it scares the s__t out of me! I began to be paranoid as I heard stories of ppl dying in their sleep so each time this happens I wake her up😏
