My baby has CMPA and we’ve tried enfamil nutramengen and similac alimentum. He refuses to even take the nutramengen and projectile vomits the alimentum.
Has anyone tried the Kendamil Goats milk formula?

I had the same thought about moving my baby with CMPA onto this but I googled it and kendamils website states it can’t be used for CMPA because the proteins in all mammalian milks are very similar and therefore likely to also result in an allergic reaction.

well dang I just have missed that in the website!! I mainly breastfeed but have to supplement sometimes cause my supply will dip or on his cluster days were he eats 3-4 3 oz bottles in a very very short period of time… I’m just having difficulty finding a good formula…

I know I was gutted, I saw it in the shop and through omg amazing because apparently kendamil is really yummy so thought my baby would love it! :(

I see you’re in the US so not sure if you have Aptimal Pepti but that’s what my babys been prescribed and he’s doing okay on it! It does give him bad heartburn because the milks really thin but our doctor prescribed omeprazole and it works amazing!

Maybe you could get some omeprazole for the alimentum milk it might help to stop vomiting or does he not like that one? Xx

He doesn’t like it. But I also noticed that it still has milk protein in it it’s just broke down extra. Obviously his sensitivity is more that that formula allows… I’ve had to cut all dairy out of my diet. Literally ALL. So I thought maybe goats milk formula would be better… I’m currently waiting on his pediatrician to call me back. And he sees a GI specialist in March.

My daughter has a hypo allergenic amino acid based formula - NUTRAMIGEN PURAMINO. Maybe worth looking into getting Gp to prescribe? It states on the tin for management of servre CMPA, multiple food allergies and other medical conditions necessary❤️

My baby won’t even take the Nutramigen. Absolutely refuses… he took it the first few times. Then he’s suck and spit. Now he won’t even entertain the thought lol.

my little girl was the same for a long time but had been told to just be persistent. Which is hard of course! Xx

Does CMPA mean milk allergy? My first born had this and until he was 18minths, he was given an EpiPen -that’s how allergic he was ! Despite being ignored by paediatrician that colic isn’t a thing. I found out by accident about 2 other formulas (we live in Ontario and were able to have it prescribed) . One is Neocate and the other Purimino. The formulas you mentioned don’t break down the cows milk enough.
My baby was colic and projectile vomiting. I had to change my tops 3x a day and him the same. Goodluck!

yes it means cows milk protein allergy… I really wish my Pediatrician would call me back soon. I love breastfeeding my baby but it doesn’t have enough “substance” to fill him up enough to get a good sleep. And I don’t produce enough consistently to exclusively breast feed… hoping to hear from them soon so I can go to the store today sometime… I’ve been in google for hours now researching…

We use goat milk formula but the Nannycare brand and my LO is doing so well on it, all CMPA symptoms stopped - he hasn't been officially diagnosed as apparently true cmpa means he wouldn't be able to have the goat milk, but it fixed all of our problems! I was told by somebody else here that the goat milk has different proteins which are more similar to breast milk and easier for their tummies to digest. Who knows though, drs have not been helpful for me. Could be worth a try if he's refusing other options and not anaphylaxis type allergic.

his Dr hasn’t called me back. So I went ahead and grabbed some from the store. If he has an intolerance to it like cows milk he’ll projectile vomit. Then I’ll know to stop.

how is it going?!

he took the Kendamil Goats formula without any problems and slept from 8pm-130am last night! First time he’s ever slept that long through the night! Hes getting his second bottle of it now…
