I agree! But if you google the original phrase it was ’the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb’ meaning bonds created in life are stronger than family ties. So the whole meaning of the original quote has changed to mean the opposite

People use that phrase so others can get away with treating you however they please, I completely disagree with it tbh. If your child grows up to see you constantly being mistreated by a family member and you not doing anything about it, shows them that it’s okay and it’s bloody not !

I don’t hate it I think that it’s ideal and for me it’s typically been the case but that doesn’t mean that this is the same for everyone . We all lead different lives/ have been born or raised in certain situations and have been exposed to different things as a result.

The whole phrase actually is longer, and about how the blood of an oath is thicker than the water of the womb.
