Potty training
My son is about to be 5 in March and didn't want to potty train. I've tried putting him on the potty every hour (can't do shorter. I have a 7 month old and an autistic 3 year old). I've taken the tablet and the video games. He hasn't had them in weeks and I say he can have it back when he's no longer using diapers. We've tried the reward system. He has successfully peed in the potty multiple times but he just doesn't care. Won't consistently go or will pee in his diaper then ask to sit on the potty. It's out where he can see it and sit any time and me and my husband ask him if he has to potty frequently. I just don't know what to do now or how to motivate him to use the potty. Anyone have any advice?
My little boy has been so hard to potty train as well and he’s 5 in March too! We found he really didn’t care about losing tablets, toys, etc or even getting treats when he used the potty. He’s obsessed with legos so I took him to a local Lego store and let him pick out a few prizes. When we got home we put a shelf up in the bathroom and displayed all of the prizes he picked out and hung up a chart. He still pees in his pull-up on occasion but hadn’t had a poopy pull up in about a week! Looking at the prizes and being able to pick them out seemed to help a lot! Once he has zero accidents and is out of pull-ups he gets his big prize he picked out.
