Did the drug ruin the name Molly?

When we were talking names I mentioned the name Adeline (Addy for short) and my boyfriend goes “like adderall?”

My exes name was Malik... I said if we have a girl we Could name her Mali ( Molly)... he's response was " like the drug?!".. I still love the name though!

Personally I don’t think of the name Molly as the drug it doesn’t cross my mind

What I've learnt from the hard task of choosing a name is that every name has an association with something. Whether that be it was the name of someone's school bully or a descraced celebrity. I got to the point in this recent pregnancy where I don't mention the name to anyone so as not to affect my opinon. As soon as you tell someone the name after the baby is born, they would be too polite to mention their opinon and instead of linking the name to an illegal drug, they will link the name to your beautiful baby. That being said, if you are now thinking of the drug and its going to always bother you, that's a different story! I know of a molly-may or molly-Sue as an alternative x

No! Most grown ups do not immediately think of drug names 😂 my childhood best friend is a Molly and very few people have made jokes about it over the years.
It’s still a good name

I didn’t either until my boyfriend said that and I was like oh drats because it’s what I think of now. We ended up having a boy so it wasn’t even on the table but still lol

I just don’t love the name Molly so I voted yes, it’s not immediately drug associated tho LOL

I think of the American Girl Doll Molly because she was the first one I ever got!

Don’t associate molly with drugs myself, it’s a nice name

It’s not really a thing here in the uk, like I don’t think of drugs. I’ve heard the songs about it but it’s not a common drug here.

My daughter is called Molly, I love the name and we never called the drug Molly- we call it Mandy lol

Yeah I think of the drug molly, sorry. One of my nicknames is Molly & lots of people have asked if it’s after drugs. (It’s not)

I know a few mollys and i've never made this association or heard anyone else say it!
