Freaking out a little after my sons 2 month vaccines

My son had his vaccines today. I was out of town so he got them a little late (11 weeks tomorrow) I use an owlet and every night his HR is around 120 when he’s sleeping. Tonight it’s 155-160. I just checked to see if he has a fever and it’s at 98.8 so not that. Is this normal has anyone experienced this ?

We had to move across the country, and had my newborn get his vaccines done at 6weeks before we flew (fda approved), and he was fine, no fevers, he was a bit sore on the thigh and would whine when I changed his diaper.

As for the heart rate, I'm not sure why it would be so high, I would probably recommend you reach out to his pediatrician if you're concerned.

I also suggest you do some research on the black box labels for vaccines. There’s plenty of research out there proving how toxic and harmful the vaccines are especially for infant immune systems. Hope he feels better soon!

You should definitely talk to your ped if you're concerned, but an increased heart rate with no other symptoms seems fine to me. The body is working to create antibodies and build the immune system.

I have the owelet too and my little ones heart rate gets that high when she's having a particularly restless night. She was most likely in a little bit of discomfort at the injection site that brought her heart rate up. I would reach out to your pediatrician to ease your mind though. Also, please continue to vaccinate your child, you are doing a great service to them and your community. Don't listen to people who are trying to fearmonger you by spreading misinformation. You're doing great!

not sure why you felt the need to post this and scare me further after I already said above I am extremely worried. He already received the vaccine so there is nothing I can do about it now. Extremely insensitive to do at this moment. Stating to do my research about vaccinations would have been sufficient but thanks

Hi so I was on edge about the vaccines myself my mom showed me research on it after I already had given my 3 month old baby her hep b vaccine and a dtap 5 in 1 shot and it scared me as well so I decided not to vaccinate my baby but I’m sure your baby will be fine mine is fine I would just do research in the future whenever it comes to your child for safety💕

i don’t think it is insensitive as being a parent comes means being scared no matter what you do. I put the research there so you can make an informed decision next time or at least maybe you will do some research. Your baby is lucky to be just having minor side effect if that is what it is. Some babies arent that lucky. And doctors arent always looking out for you especially when they are being paid for each vaccine. Also the reason i posted these is because it is hard to find these data when you don’t know what you are looking for. Cheers. Hope your baby feels better.

I think the heart rate being the only symptom is ok! But definitely ask your pediatrician if you’d like more reassurance. My baby was a little fussier for 24 hours which probably made his rate higher but we didn’t track. The only concerning story I heard with vaccines is someone’s baby had a super high fever with baby in distress. So I’d be more concerned about those type of things and go to the ER if you experience them. Otherwise, baby should rebound quickly!

@Monique I'm a genetics student and a ftm. I was worried about the 2 mo vaccines because I had a bad reaction to them as a baby (except I was 2 months early and had health problems). Infant vaccinations used to have a ton of antibodies in them, bit now they're getting about 150 *total* which is a super small amount! My son had a fever for about a day and a half after his vaccines and then was good. I'd message your ped if the hr thing is making you anxious, but it sounds like your lo is alright! Keep vaccinating your lil guy to make sure he stays safe !!!

@Selin the thing is, this data is a result of kids getting vaccinated. compare data of rates before and after vaccines to get more appropriate information

probs not particularly helpful to post these about Sid’s and other stuff when a mom is already scared and concerned? Weird.

I have the owlet as well and I think as long as it’s not over 200 and doesn’t keep happening it’s okay. Heart rate varies by a lot of different things. If it keeps happening then definitely ask or tell a doctor and bring up to a pediatrician. Heart rate and BP in adults goes up when you’re in pain so possibly could’ve just been that?

thank you lol I didn’t even bother to reply because some people will never understand.

He is ok ! And tonight his heart rate is back to normal. Thank you ladies so much for being so kind and reassuring 💗
