Aptamil pepti 1 and nutramigen

The main difference is they use different protiens which they break down
I'm not 100% which way around but 1 has casein and 1 has whey
Also nutramigen is made with cooled boiled water due to the lgg but aptamil is made like normal formula

So neither are better but usually if baby can't handle 1 of them the drs will try them on the other before trying a amino acid formula which has no milk protiens at all
In many cases baby will be okay with 1 of the milk protiens and not the other but other cases they won't be able to tolerate any of them

Is the aptamil closer to formula tasting coz my the nutramigen one is disgusting my boy is physically gagging drinking it poor sod x

Nutramagin and alpha mino both still contain cows milk protein but it has been broken down so the body can cope with it. These are normally prescribed first. Sometimes doctors will try one then the other if the first doesn't work. If this doesnt work then they might prescribe an amino acid based formula such as neocate which contains no cows milk protien. Often they will move straight onto amino based formula without trying the second one. Both of my babies went straight from nutramagin to neocate

@Alisha so it really varies baby to baby
Some it can be days others it can be 6 weeks
Some people also notice it'll get better then symptoms get worse again but if waiting the whole 6 weeks it can then get better again

Alfamino is amino acid

I think all prescription milk is disgusting. You can add some vanilla extract to help with taste. Although my daughter prefers her Neocate over oat milk. X
