Has anyone thought their baby had CMPA but turns out they didn’t??

I have always through my baby has had CMPA but now I’m not really sure…

He has silent reflux which is alot more manageable now than it used to be (we aren’t taking anything for this either), he often gets mucous in his poo (but now I’m thinking is this because he’s been really badly teething and also when he’s not been feeling well?) and he has eczema which seemed to have flared up more recently since the dr prescribed this starter pack creams for me to try which don’t seem to be helping but I think they’ve made it worse.

Is it possible that it could not be CMPA?
I’ve been going back and forth with the doctors for months for a prescription milk and finally yesterday he got put on aptamil pepti 1, but last night he was crying in so much pain farting and did an awful diarrhoea poo, he was just full of wind I felt awful seeing him like that and he’s also only taking 2oz every 3/4 hours which really worries me.. he was previously on hipp organic and he was alot more content on this milk and usually drank 3-4oz every 2/3 hours, I know they say to give it a chance but my gut is telling me differently

I guess what I’m asking is, is it possible for my baby to have silent reflux, eczema and the odd occasion of mucous in his poo but not have CMPA? My gut is telling me to just put him back on hipp organic tbh or to try a goats milk

Hey! I’m wondering the same about my daughter. Now 7 months old. We’ve used goats milk and she’s been absolutely fine now and I’m reintroducing milk into both our diet slowly. Slowly mainly because regardless neither of us have had it for months!

Hi, we went through the exact same and trialling for 6 weeks it was a waste and horrible. My baby suffered, and i, only to find out that goats milk was the solution.
You know your baby best said a dietician at hospital you are with them day night we just see them for a few mins you know what is right and wrong. That's all i needed, and i changed without telling any gp or doctor, and it's been the best so far. Good luck x

We’ve been in a similar-ish position. My son had suspected CMPA around a month old - green mucousy poops, silent reflux, really gassy but otherwise no skin conditions. We saw a number of HVs and GPs and all gave different opinions as to whether it’s CMPA. He’s ebf so I went dairy free for 2 months but it didn’t make much difference so I went back to including dairy in my diet. He seemed ok the following months with random bouts of green mucousy poop and bad gas which would last a few days at a time. We’ve just started solids and I’m planning to introduce dairy slowly. We still don’t know for sure if he has CMPA and will only know once we introduce dairy to him

I’ve just had to stop giving him the pepti 1 because he was screaming in agony all last night and today and I’m not watching him go through that when he wasn’t like that on the hipp organic milk😩 I think I might just start weaning him soon and go through the different allergies then and sus it out that way, I wish they could just go something to check exactly what babies are allergic to😢

I gave him a bottle with his hipp organic one not long after the other ad he was hungry but wouldn’t take to the other and he demolished 3oz of that one which is more than he’s been taking of the other x

I feel like an awful mum not knowing what is right or wrong for him but my guy is just telling me that this milk the dr gave me is definitely not right for him and I really don’t want to go through trailing so many different milks when he wasn’t starting to settle on the hipp one, it’s just his eczema started to flare up when they prescribed me a starter pack of creams which don’t seem to work

Pepti 1 still has cows milk it’s just really broken down you will need an amino acid formula x

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I understand how stressful it can be not knowing but as others have said, you know your baby best. I would personally go with my gut and what feels right for me and baby. Every baby is so different and not everything the doctor prescribes will be right for them. I can’t comment on the eczema but I hope it all goes well with the milk and that little bubba feels better soon! xx

Im the exact same, i dont think in my gut its cmpa but ive been doing diary free for one week, and we tried nutramigen last night and he cried in pain all last night - hes never done that on milk formula. we’ve seen no improvement yet. I think i might try goats milk as the perscribed formulas are awful!

@Brooke my baby is thriving finally on goats milk, so its worth a shot x

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Hour night wakes and 5am get up

Can anyone shed some light as to why on earth my child doesn’t want to sleep??? My eyeballs are bleeding!!

Never been a good sleeper, but the problems always changing. He’s nearly 9 months old.

Beginning of the month he dropped to 2 naps. We could put him to bed at 7pm and he’d get up for the day at 6am, with multiple wake ups every 2/3 hours.

Now we put him down at 7pm, he can do a good 4/5 hour stretch, but come 1/2am he’s up every hour then getting up for the day at 5am. This then completely messes up the day because I can’t keep him awake long enough to even get to 7pm, let alone later.

He has 2 naps, roughly about 1hr10 each but it changed based on when he wakes and trying to get him to a reasonable bed time.

What could be the reason for this? 6am is fine, but 5am is not 😩😩

Help meeee

!!All advice welcome!! My 5 month old (nearly 6mo) is just not sleeping . Not for naps and not at night . She can’t connect her cycles . We started sleep regression at 3 months but in like how is this nearly been going on for a further 3 months . Like surely not . She has 10 min naps in crib ( which take so much effort ) and maybe 20/30 min naps in my arms/pushchair . She wakes minimum every hour at night with guaranteed false start 20 mins in . I combo feed. I breastfeed her until almost asleep then place her in the next to me crib give her the pacifier and put my hand on her cheek/face for 20 seconds and she drifts off . It’s not really getting her to sleep that’s the issue it’s she just won’t stay asleep . She doesn’t even need to feed much at night usually 1-2 breastfeeds . The rest is comfort wakes needing her pacifier or my hand on her cheek . I’ve looked into sleep associations and independent sleep and I broke the feed to sleep association and rocking and do bedside comforting instead for most wakes which has now lead to my hand being a sleep association on her face . I’m just so exhausted my husband is working mon-fri 9-9 and it’s just me . I haven’t had more than 4 hours in a row since her birth . I can’t get anything done during the day . She is so clingy and cries if I leave room /put her down etc. I love her so much but we both need rest . If anyone has any tips or a routine that could help PLEASE tell me I’ll try anything 🥲❤️❤️

Feeding to sleep

FTM here! 👋

Are you guys feeding your baby to sleep?

I just read feeding to sleep is creating bad habit and baby will always cry etc when awake at night expecting to get bottle before falling asleep again. 🤔
It said should feed the baby, give a bath (or not) and then put to sleep.
I do other way around - bath, pjs/lotion, rock to sleep and feed at the same time and then baby falling asleep.
Am I creating a bad habit? Been doing it all the time really. 😳

Feeds

How many times a night are your little ones getting up? My daughter is every 90-110 minutes. I am absolutely exhausted and don’t know how much more I can cope
