Baby refusing milk

My 10 month old has been ill for 2 days now. She is refusing formula. She eats some solids but very little liquid. Does anyone have tips I can use to sneak in more hydration. Her wet diapers have reduced and I'm worried. I've just made some formula popsicles and waiting for them to freeze.

Have you tried giving her some water? They can have about 4-8oz at that age. We always found puree pouches helpful as well during illness. We love the Love Child ones!

@Dani yes she usually loves water but now she takes some sips with her food, not much. I even tried putting it in a different sippy cup and bottle

Watered down apple juice? Or even coconut water?

You could do some fruits and veggies that have water in it. Like apples, watermelon, cucumber, peppers

@Christine she hasn't had juice yet but I guess I might have to introduce that. I did not think k of coconut water. Thanks for the ideas.

When my LO is sick and not eating or drinking much, I like to mix juice and coconut water to get some electrolytes. I'm not a huge juice girl for babies but when she's sick, you gotta do what you gotta do

@Christine yeah that's what I will do. Thank you

I would just try to get Pedialyte into her you can grab that at Walmart if she will eat food try to get some into her, could do the brat diet for a little banana , rice apple sauce and toast) around 10 months she will be okay if she only gets 6 ish Oz thru the day tbh I would just offer fluids any chance you can

@Mckinnly I was thinking pedialyte but read that it is for LO over 1 year. She is eating a bit of solids, so that's good. I just keep offering liquids when I can. It doesn't help that she has a wicked cough. Makes her cough up her milk sometimes and then she doesn't want it anymore.

Give her coconut water it's a natural electrolyte should be fine for her to take and it will bring back her appetite.

One thing I did for my son when he was little when he was sick & could never eat or drink liquids I used to give him fruits to eat cause that was his favourite as he always ate that really good when sick. Before getting to know that coconut water is a natural electrolyte I used to give him Pedialyte and that helped him get his appetite back slowly to be able to eat. When I gave him he was about 1 years old or older. Yes I gave him lots of water to drink too.

@Lizz I tried giving her coconut water yesterday and she was not a fan. I guess because it was her first time tasting it. I'll keep trying. She still loves fruits, I've been giving her that.

@Uche yeah my LO won't drink coconut water unless you mix it with some sort of juice. But juice is also good when sick bc the sugars are fast carbohydrates!

I mixed it watered down apple juice

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰
