I would offer porridge with peanut butter in maybe? Just a tiny amount or it’s too much. Try to blend veg in sauces and offer in different ways. I give him the spoon in his hand so he puts it in his mouth while I take the other spoon back. But sometime I just give him the bowl and he will use his hands for most things 🤣 My 3 year ate EVERYTHING at that age and now eats nothing so I would say keep offering and somethings will take and some don’t but don’t stress too much right now
No real advice other than what’s been said, but I was told they sometimes need to try something up to 10 times before it becomes a recognised flavour and will eat it. My two year old will only eat carrots and raw veggies and only started eating cucumbers recently. Their likes change all the time so try not to worry. It’s all still exploring and experimenting at this age but I’m sure they’ll start eating more foods soon. Just keep persisting! Xx
We have struggled with the same thing, sounds mean but my son loved porridge so for dinner we would put puréed veg in porridge (brocolli, carrots etc) now he has those purées without porridge so it does seem to of helped. If we do BLW he does tend to leave veg, it’s definitely a journey but you’re not alone 🤗 I’m just hoping when he goes to nursery his eating habits will change. My friend said her baby was the same (preferred sweet things) at the same age but now eats everything so I’m hoping in time it will just happen if we keep persevering x
My friend has a fussy baby and I've seen her give her homemade cottage pie with a little bit of the Ella's kitchen smoothie pouches with each spoonful. She says after a few times, the baby starts to take the cottage pie on its own. Might be worth a try!
I tried dipping broccoli in some cranberry sauce, and she loved it. She always ate her veggies mashed up and fed on a spoon or in things like omelettes/spag bol. But I tried it as a finger food, and she wouldn't eat it, but now she loves it dipped in a little bit of cranberry sauce. The one from tesco has got barely any salt in it too which is good x
What about making some dishes with sweet potato? I know when I lived abroad and had a lot of US mates, they cooked a lot with sweet potato and half the time it was like a sweet. Obviously you’d have to find baby suitable recipes but I’ve seen a lot of sweet potato ideas on IG (I tend to look at dieticians).
I also made courgette pancakes
I'm currently going through this and found the best way to get some vegetables in is to make dishes that have them in. Omelette, quiches, veggie bites, homemade soup/stew as many hidden veggies as I can fit in there 😅 Hope this helps 😄
