Learn Spanish
Hola! I need help lol. For bilingual mommies how or where did/are learning Spanish? I'm trying to learn it along with my 11 month old since my husband and all his family come from Mexico and id love to be able to speak with his family and also speak Spanish to our kids while he's on deployments so they can be bilingual but I'm having a tough time trying to learn. 🫠 Please please please help. 🥺 I tried studying while i was pregnant and surprise my husband bc he was on deployment but I was so sick and in and out of hospital during pregnancy I couldn't study really. But I really want to get the hang of it and semi fast. I just need to learn to speak not write, but everywhere I try learning it's focused on writing not speaking. 😵💫

I’m sure you will get wonderful resources from other moms for apps to learn Spanish.
My advice would be to compliment by watching movies/shows you’re familiar with, but change the language to Spanish with English subtitles (or Spanish subtitles work too). You could also have the Spanish channels on and watch those.
Also, there are some great YouTube channels for Spanish immersion that are more geared towards kids, but can also be of help in your journey.

Duo lingo was great for fun but Latin American and also I struggled to pick up language structure. I don’t know how to find Spanish films 🤔 Netflix I think you can watch on Spanish audio and subtitles… but are there good Spanish tv shows and films?
yes! I watch spanish films and series all the time on Netflix. Or on telemundo.

I don't necessarily have advice, but I am in the exact same boat! I have been trying apps for years and have tried babble, Duolingo and rocket language and I understand some of the basics but I don't seem to retain it without the practice component.
I see some comments about watching shows and am curious about programs like Lingopie that integrates with Netflix/Disney for translation plus review of vocab.
sorry for the late reply but I qould say just explore what they have. Depends on the genre you like! A good YouTube channel with native speakers from different countries is Dreaming Spanish they make beginner and intermediate level videos
thanks Syd! That’s so weird, I actually find that channel today and they have a website. I am going to write a post of things to do/watch each day to improve more quickly. It’s harder than I thought!
